In 1949, Mr. Cerny sold his interest in the business to L.E. Then, in 1952, the new firm of Schutt, McFarlin, & Saunders Furniture and Funeral Home remodeled the building in order to provide even better service to the families of the Harvard community. Today, Wednesday, July 31st, Mr. Saunders called me to inform me that the gentlemen who does final dates would be at the Cemetary this week and date would be carved by the end of the week. The visitation, procession to church and Cemetary were completed the old fashioned way. Police assistance and traffic control made for a smooth safe journey. When my time comes, if I am in the area, I will have this funeral home handle my arrangements.

Saunders graduated from the University of Illinois College of Pharmacy in 1971. He loves watching his daughter play competitive sports, traveling, golfing, bowling, running 5K races with his wife and daughter to raise money, and spending time with his family. — Saunders and McFarland has been great at serving the families and the community for many years and you can tell they really care about everyone they work with. The staff is professional and compassionate and a pleasure to work with. Every question was answered and concerns addressed. He and his staff, working quietly in the background, made the day of the funeral go smoothly.
